📈 From 1 to 100: Playbook for Scaling Your Passion Project
Published 17 days ago • 3 min read
I talk to so many teens who are eager to build…
But here’s the common problem: most of them are stuck because they’re spinning their wheels without a clear plan.
They have big ideas but no structure. Tons of energy but no direction.
They’re trying hard but not strategically—wasting time on things that don’t move the needle.
Here’s the good news: we’re hosting a FREE live ideation session on February 1st to help ambitious teens take that first critical step toward turning their passions into projects.
In 90 minutes, you’ll learn the exact LUMA framework we use to guide teens in creating real-world impact. It’s hands-on, it’s engaging, and there’s even a Q&A to help you get unstuck.
It’s time to stop waiting for opportunities and start creating them.
Now if you want your passion project to truly matter, you need to know how to scale—no shortcuts, no excuses.
Here’s the reality: you don’t just stumble onto the secret formula to go from “cool idea” to “game-changer” overnight.
Here’s the issue: turning a passion project into something impactful is easy to dream about but hard to execute. And there’s a BIG difference between:
Starting many projects that never gain traction
Scaling one project into something sustainable and game-changing
The second path often creates more lasting impact—and it’s far more challenging.
But what does “scaling a passion project” actually mean? Does it mean:
Reaching more people?
Building systems?
Transforming a side project into a self-sustaining venture?
Making it meaningful without losing the passion that started it all?
The answer is all of the above.
That’s why we’re diving into strategies, real-life examples, and actionable steps to scale what you love.
Get Introductions
I could call it “word of mouth,” but that doesn’t do it justice.
What we’re really talking about is building a virtuous cycle. By tapping into the entire value chain of my investment and property management business, I’ve learned this: the more value I generate for others at every step, the more they generate leads for me.
Here’s how it works: I use my niche expertise to help others succeed—designers, agents, contractors, you name it. When they win, they send opportunities my way, allowing me to acquire clients without sky-high costs.
The result? A low-cost, high-trust system where everyone thrives. Want to scale smart? Focus on giving value that sparks a cycle of success.
Build Online Presence
What do you do when you’re curious about something new? You Google it.
That’s exactly why your passion project needs a strong online presence. Think of it as “build once, attract continuously.”
For example, OCE’s weekly newsletter helps me consistently engage and nurture relationships with our community. It’s not just a one-time effort; it’s a way to scale by showing up regularly and staying top of mind.
Building an online presence is like planting seeds: focus on what you can control—consistent content, genuine value, and clear messaging—and watch it compound over time.
Have System In Place
In my world, Airtable, Notion, and Monday.com are the backbone of my operations. Every task, deadline, and workflow lives there. To take it further, I automate repetitive tasks using Make—saving time and keeping everything seamless.
But here’s the key: systems aren’t “set it and forget it.” I’m always tweaking, automating, and pressure-testing to ensure they grow alongside my projects.
The payoff? Clarity, efficiency, and the ability to scale without drowning in chaos. Systems turn your passion into a process—and a process into something that makes real impact.

The Lunar New Year is a time to celebrate heritage, honor traditions, and share joy across communities. For many Asian Americans, however, this season can also serve as a stark reminder of the struggles we face due to enduring stereotypes and racism. As the founder of Open Classroom Experience (OCE), a program dedicated to bridging cultures and fostering understanding of Asian emerging markets for American youth, this issue is deeply personal to me.
